ATTENTION FILM MAKERS
The 2019 SDGs in Action Film Festival is now open!
Coordinated by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs’ Division for SDGs, the Festival seeks short films that highlight how people and organizations around the world are taking action for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Entries will be accepted in the following categories for 2019:
• Protecting our planet
• Reducing inequalities
• Building peace
• Ensuring quality education and jobs
• Young Filmmaker (24 years old or younger)
• SDGs in Virtual Reality/360 degrees (films 2 minutes or less)
The top video in each category will be shown at the SDGs in Action Film Festival in July 2019 at or near UN Headquarters in New York, with the filmmakers invited to attend and participate in Festival-related activities. Entries will be accepted here through 26 April:

Gerald served as Policy Adviser and Team Leader of Programme, Joint Funding and Business Operations in the

Delivering as One at both strategic and operational levels along with
funding/implementation of integrated policy work.

The UNDP Administrator, Achim Steiner, will be in the country to co-chair the 14th Round Table Meeting (RTM) with the Lyonpo Dr. Tandin Dorji, Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Royal Government of Bhutan which will take place in Thimphu from 12-14 March 2019.
The RTM, organized by the Royal Government and in collaboration with United Nations in Bhutan, is the highest forum for policy dialogue. It provides an opportunity to deepen understanding and partnerships through sharing of development experiences including successes, challenges and future priorities.

The Resident Representative a.i of UNDP Bhutan is an international development practitioner with over 20 years’ experience in successfully delivering global, regional and field projects with UNDP, UN Global Compact, the private sector and international NGOs. He joined the UN after a 10-year career with major international companies in the areas of marketing, business development and Corporate Social Responsibility. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Masters in International Development. He is currently pursuing a PhD in exploring the role of mindsets for human development and the SDGs. He is passionate about transformative and holistic human development approaches, therefore, he also co-founded a grass-roots development NGO and the global UN Transformation Network.
