The UNCT ensures inter-agency coordination and decision-making at the country level. The main purpose is for individual agencies to plan and work together to ensure the delivery of results in support of the development agenda of the Government.

UN Country Team meetings include all representatives of the UN funds and programmes, specialized agencies and other UN entities active in a given country. These representatives are UN staff members, are nominated by their agency to represent, and have the decision-making authority.
